Favorite Book of the Month: January 2011

Though I always like turning the page onto a new year, I'm not big on New Year's resolutions.  I do, occasionally, set goals for myself and one of those goals this year was to read more. Between writing the last few years and all the other things I do, I haven't been reading as much as I should, or would like to.
SO.
My goal in 2011 is to read 50 books. I know compared to some of you that doesn't sound like much, but it's about one book a week and if I can pull it off I will be very pleased with myself.

So far in January I've read five books. Of those five, this was my favorite:

ANNA & THE FRENCH KISS by Stephanie Perkins

The summary from Goodreads:

Anna is looking forward to her senior year in Atlanta, where she has a great job, a loyal best friend, and a crush on the verge of becoming more. Which is why she is less than thrilled about being shipped off to boarding school in Paris—until she meets Étienne St. Claire: perfect, Parisian (and English and American, which makes for a swoon-worthy accent), and utterly irresistible. The only problem is that he's taken, and Anna might be, too, if anything comes of her almost-relationship back home.

As winter melts into spring, will a year of romantic near-misses end with the French kiss Anna—and readers—have long awaited?

It was one of those books where you fell in love with the setting (Paris), the characters felt like your friends, and you really didn't want the story to end.

So there you go.  If you haven't read ANNA & THE FRENCH KISS I recommend that you do.

Now it's your turn to share - tell me, what was your favorite read for the month of January?
