I use a cheapy old bluetooth that I got at a local electronic discount store for $20 it works fine. I used it on a VoIp app that I have.. only problem is that the voice gets delayed for a few seconds and it can be choppy at times.

I found this interesting:
Notebook Owners
Your one-year warranty includes replacement coverage for a defective battery. You can extend your replacement coverage for a defective battery to three years from the date of your notebook purchase with the AppleCare Protection Plan. However, the AppleCare Protection Plan for notebook computers does not cover batteries that have failed or are exhibiting diminished capacity except when the failure or diminished capacity is the result of a manufacturing defect. Apple offers a battery replacement service for MacBook Air and all MacBook Pro notebooks with built-in batteries. You can purchase replacement batteries for late models of Apple notebooks directly from the Apple Store.
So what constitutes defective. Is there are criteria for measuring this that is disclosed or it it up to the repair tech?
The way I view this is that it essentially means 99.99% of the time the battery is not covered.
http://www.interrupt19.com/2009/02/09/apple-laptop-battery-defective/
That article provides some insight. In general, it has to be clearly defective before Apple will replace it. For current Macs it is 1000 cycles until it should drop below 80% but of course, Apple won't replace it if it has 999 cycles and it is at 79%.

The last 4 or 5 new shows on Comedy Central are all completely pathetic. They are poorly written, and just plain not funny. This includes Too Late with Adam Carolla, that D. L. Hughley show (whatever the **** it's called), Mind Of Mencia (except maybe one or two skits), that Andy Milonakis ********... you get the idea.
Anyone feel the same way I do?
I DO! god all those shows are so stupid...although andy milonakis is on MTV its just as bad...its not funny, its like tom green, but tom green was funnier mostly because no one had ever seen anything like this before but now it is just played out...
Mind of Mencia is Comedy Central's try to bring back the Chapelles show (which is genius) and it just doesn't work...I am sick of "Race Shows" that base all of their jokes off of race...its not funny anymore, any REAL comedian that you see at a stand up club can make an hour of comdey and use very little race jokes, why can't tv do this....i can't stand those shows and someone at CC needs to use some creativity and come up with something new

do you know (or have a way to check) the battery cycles on the ibook battery?
i.e.
Full Charge Capacity (mAh): 3747
Cycle Count: 163
(from my current ibook battery)
thanks!
b
Not sure, I know that it will get you between 1.5 - 2 hours charge. Good for a back up in a pinch. Let me know!

I think it's more that Apple realized that in order to make money off the iPod they would have to make it too expensive for most people. When the iPod was released in 2001 it cost $500, and everyone bitched about it being too expensive. So Apple has changed their approach to selling the iPod for as cheap as possible while still making a little bit of money; this way they sell a lot more so their profits are higher than if they sold the iPod to make money. Ya follow?
The Mac on the other hand is still priced to be the cash cow.
so aren't you supposed to keep the cow happy?
an overheating cow is not happy; a cow needs to be dressed (case redesign?) to be happy; a slow cow is not happy; a cow that can't process graphics good enough is not happy, she may confuse her own poop for grass.
damn mac, they are sadomasochists.

I have an iPod Touch 4g version 4.3.1. I've been checking on youtube hot to jailbreak and there's always a step where I have to download 4.3.1...but i'm already on 4.3.1. Can't I just directly use RedSnow to jailbreak my iPod Touch?
Tethered or Untethered, I don't really mind.
**Sorry, if there's already thread**

I need a case for my iPhone 4. I don't want it to be too bulky, and I don't need too much coverage.
Thanks!

wow...that code is really messy, but the site looks great!
i'm not entirely sure which boxes you're talking about either. html code really isn't all that scary in fact. once you know a few basic tags and such it's pretty easy. like here's the code to make a really basic page that says "hello world" in helvetica, size 5, green, and centered. oh, and with a title.
<html>
<head>
<title>Hi</title>
</head>
<body>
<center>
<font face="helvetica" size="5" color="green">Hello World</font>
</center>
</body>
</html>
the <html> tag tells the browser to start an html document, the <head> tells it that there's information about the page that won't be displayed in the page, the <title> opens a tag that says what to display in the title bar, the </title> says that the title is finished. the </head> says that the info about the page is done. the <body> tells what to display, basically. the <center> tells it to center the following info, the <font> tag, along with the attributes face, size, and color, and the values helvetica, 5, and green tell it how to style the text. "Hellow World" tells it the text to display. </font> tells it that that's the end of the text styled that way. </center> stops text after that from being centered, </body> ends the main info, and </html> closes the document. in general to open a tag it goes like <tag> and to close it it's <tag> and to define attributes and values it's <tag attribute="value"> and then </tag> there are, of course, exceptions...
knowing the basics of the code and such can really help you simplify the code that golive generates, and a lot of things are easier, imo, to do by hand than in golive. link targets, for example. for the life of me i cant figure out how to get a link to open in an iframe in golive without going into the source...:rolleyes:
sorry for the long post :o

yeah dude, iphones are locked to ATT or Verizon. U can get a factory unlocked but they are expensive. Gevey SIM is your best bet if you wanna unlock an iP4.
U can probably get a plan from T-mo for 500 min voice/200MB data for like 45 bucks. For texting u can use Google voice app.

A CDN isn't a web host or a cloud provider. It's a distributed network of computers that push-out content to the "edges" of the Internet, closer to users. It's appropriate for large web sites with large geographic appeal which also have a need for low-latency deliver of content to users.
Amazon does have a CDN product, but it's not included in the base S3 offering. S3 offers storage services in ONE of Amazon's data centers, but doesn't push-out content across their world-wide network.
To my knowledge, the other solutions offered aren't CDNs and don't offer a CDN product.
Agreed. The Amazon product you'd be looking at is "CloudFront", not "S3".
And Rackspace does offer a CDN now, but it's actually using Akamai for the CDN functionality. Akamai is the big corporate CDN player I've used. It's pricy, though.

Why wait in line...The Best buy in Citrus Park and the CompUSA in Brandon . . .
The release is the buzz, the standing in line anticipating it is the stoke. Best Buy's okay for CDs, and CompUSA is fine for ink cartridges, but when's the last time you heard people say "Let's meet at Best Buy to get a new HDMI cable?"
Besides, it'll be on Friday. The Mac fanboys can then go to Blue Martini and look smugly upon the beautiful people lined up to throw money at indifferent bartenders serving overpriced drinks, all the while holding up their copies of Leopard while yelling "I've got mine, I've got mine!"

Hi, I want to put some CD's that I purchased on my iTunes to put on my iPod. The only problem is that I am getting a new laptop soon, my BlackBook is dyeing.)))): Well, so far I have bought all my music on iTunes, but it's so expensive. I bought many CD's like I said, and I'm putting them on iTunes. When I plug the iPod into a new computer, it would ask me if I wanted to transfer my purchases. And everything that I bought would transfer. The songs that I got from other websites wouldn't transfer. But If I import the CD's through iTunes, will it still transfer to the new computer? Or do they have to be bought from iTunes?
Thank You!
Thank You!

Like I said before, I use tiny umbrella instead of editing my host files, so I don't know what it's supposed to look like.
Tried it with Greenpois0n and it failed so I tried it with Redsnow and it worked. It's tethered, but thats no big deal as I rarely ever turn it off. But now what do I do with the host file? I deleted what I added and now it looks like this. Is this correct?

well i've used windows computers all my life. i remember when i was litte i was amazed at what a computer could do like GAMES!! ha i've grown up on a windows computer, and didn't think windows was that bad. remember i was little. after years of Updating drivers then OOPS its crashes and the updates are ready, ready to do what screw up my computer make it crash and burn and have to talk to tech support for 6 hours.. there hasn't been a year where i haven't had to reinstall windows atlesat 20 times like last week my computer lost all my cd drive drivers so how could i reinstall without a cd i did the restore point thing and that fixed it.The first year i moved here i got a comptuer for a Xmas Presant. can't kick a gift horse in the mouth but this compter i so called go, was a Systemax you know that company the ones they sell at 3 in the morning on the home shopping network and the guys like look it can play movies and you can type AHHH well the story goes i got the computer and the video card was lose so on Xmas day my computer crashed and Burned. the whole thing got friend cuz it was lose i had to get rid of it quick so i gutted it and rebuilt it myself . i do residental and hotel network support and having to reinstall drivers or update stuff is a regular thing to me but i never knew it wasn't very nessisary with a mac well you have update but it won't mess it up.i moved to arkansas 4 years ago and i had never used a mac product. untill my friend Ijon let me use his. he told me that it doesn't freeze, doesn't crash (sound Familar) i was amazed. right then i fell in love with macs the design the way they run it was great he also told me that if it does happen to mess up you can reinstall and all your data will stay on the comp it will just reinstall the main sys files and stuff. My first apple product was a NEW 15GB Ipod i bought this year i also have a Ipod t-shirt and poster. pretty good for a starter . I think it was one of the best investments i have ever made. i am wanting to buy a new 15" powerbook but i hear there updating them really soon so the waiting, its killing me.
NO MORE CRASHING AND .DLL DUM WINDOWS PROBLEMS FOR ME.
as soon as i get my powerbook the windows pc's going on the bench or just for games.

I would use Python as there is a Cocoa bridge for Python. Though untimately you will need an understanding of Obj-C and Cocoa to make decent Mac OSX apps. Even if you are coding in Python.
