As I've mentioned before, I have a koi pond. This is the view right below my kitchen window - this picture is actually taken
through the window. (Yes, we just had our windows cleaned... :-) It's a bit hard to tell from this perspective but they're from 12 to 24 inches long, most are probably about 20 inches long. They're big!
I have 15 fish and they each have names, such as: Picasso, Fanny, Moonbeam, Swimmy, Big Daddy, Creamsicle, Will. I. Am., Yin, Yang, Doggy Paws etc. They are just now getting to where they like me to pet them (yes, really...) and my daughter and I are having a discussion of whether I should put a video on my blog of me petting my fish....see
Fun Fact #5 here.
Animals are so amazing! Do you have any pets?
In other news, we've learned a bit more about
Pottermore - it's to be an online interactive site where fans can explore the world of Hogwarts and share stories of Harry Potter. Here's the announcement from Publisher's Weekly:
"To be launched on July 31, Harry Potter’s birthday, the site gives users access to roam in Harry's world, to uncover back stories and other additional material written by Rowling from notes of hers from the time of first writing the stories as well as those written subsequently. “Find your house by answering random questions posed by the sorting hat” and “choose your own wand from Ollivander’s" are just two of the activities. Fans can join in by submitting comments, drawings and other content; “Pottermore has been designed as a place to share the stories with your friends as you journey through the site,” Rowling said. When the site goes live, one million of those who have signed up will have the opportunity to join in shaping the final details." Read the entire article here. It's not totally clear to me what all we can do, but with Sony's involvement I'm sure the graphics will be phenomenal. Hopefully, I'll be one of the million who can sign up for the beta site. For all the details go to the
Pottermore site. I'm off to New Orleans tomorrow - I'll try to post some pictures over the weekend.Have a great day!
