Speaking of random acts of kindness...

So, I mentioned in my previous post that my daughter and I had attended the recent Teen Day at the RT Convention in LA. All the authors were SO nice and friendly - it was really a super day. BUT, that wasn't the only great part of the day.

While we were standing in line to have an author sign we started chatting with the two girls in front of us. Turns out it was Erin and Yvette, who run the fabulous Caster Girls & Boys website, the fan site for the BEAUTIFUL CREATURES trilogy. I do love me some Southern Gothic romance, so that was fun to meet them.

I didn't mention that I was an author, because really, WHO CARES when you're in a room with Kami Garcia & Margie Stohl, Holly Black, Cassie Clare, Melissa Marr, Carrie Ryan, Kelley Armstrong etc. etc. etc.

Anyway, we went our different ways after we got our books signed and it was to my GREAT surprise, when Erin came up later and gave me this:

 

It is the ARC of ENTHRALLED, an anthology put together by Melissa Marr and Kelley Armstrong who wanted to bring the tour experience of the Smart Chicks Kick It Tour to the readers who didn't make it to any of their tour stops. The ARC includes sixteen stories of "Paranormal Diversions" by some of my favorite authors and will release in September. Erin had already got a number of signatures from authors featured in the book:

She just thought my daughter and I would like to  read it. And she was right!!

Isn't that AWESOME? And SO nice!!! THANK YOU, Erin!!

So, then we chatted some more and I told her I had a fantasy novel coming out in September and blahbity blah, but the point is - there is nothing better then when someone does something kind for you, just out of the goodness of their heart. It always inspires me to try and pay it forward.
